Sunday I taught a custom photopolymer class to someone who was looking to learn how to run two-color production work on the Vandercook using digitally-designed plates from Boxcar Press. It went swimmingly; we got 124 invitations printed in PANTONE 690 and blind emboss, and covered everything needed to mix the ink, run the press, keep the space tidy and clean up afterward. The final touches are going in to the studio, the wood type will be organized and I’m getting an air mover next week to hopefully help beat the heat. Here are a few photos of the lino carving class I had last Sunday.
Just a quick post with some images of the new studio in its workable setup. Some tweaks may happen in the next couple weeks, but I’m pretty happy with the way things are set up.
Yesterday I had a nice chat with John Barrett of Letterpress Things as we loaded some equipment and supplies into my car. The final pieces are in place, and Reflex Letterpress is kitted out. Father’s Day letterpress class ahead on Sunday, there’s still time to register at Albertine Press.
Yesterday the 23″ Chandler & Price paper cutter arrived from North Adams. Thanks to Maker’s Mill there for the opportunity to purchase this. Ready to cut large paper into small paper!
