Summer Teen Letterpress Workshop

Give your teen something interesting and fun to do during the hazy crazy lazy summertime! The Teen Workshop at Reflex Letterpress has four printmaking projects for a nice dose of summer creativity.
What to Expect:
- Hand-Printed Custom Cards: We start off making custom cards and foldover greetings with the Reflex library of blocks and cuts, featuring images with Prewar, MidMod, Hippie, Disco and New Wave eras.
- Linoleum Carving: We continue with carving linoleum blocks to create our own printing image, that can be matched with a favorite printing block or printed all by itself.
- Handsetting Letterpress Type: Next, we add words using the Reflex library of antique and classic typefaces cast in metal, for unique and personalized messages that can enhance the linoleum image or stand on its own.
- Choose Your Own Print: The final project is up to the student —another linoleum block, a cool poster, a pithy message for friends, or something completely unexpected!
This workshop is geared for the basic beginner, so no experience is necessary to jump in and have a good time. Perfect for young artists, aspiring graphic designers, lovers of antique machinery, and those who like working with their hands.
